July Lust List

Jane Sews Sandals – R800
It’s a toss up between these Hannah sandals in Brick (http://janesews.co.za/collections/sandals-flats/products/s15hannahbrk?variant=1211316009) and the Mia sandals in Black (http://janesews.co.za/collections/sandals-flats/products/s15miablk?variant=1211316005). Maybe I’ll have to invest in one pair this year and another next year? I don’t know.

Saltwater sandals – R849
I also like these for some reason. I think the black or tan version (again) would go well with any outfit, really. I know it’s winter right now, but… maybe I’m craving the warmer weather. Who knows. You can get them here – http://www.stepaheadshoes.co.za/salt-water-original.html

Vichy Purete Thermale Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil – R290 (I think)
I’ve been really faithful to The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil. I love that stuff so damned much. But there seems to be a manufacturing flaw with some of the bottles. They can leak like a bitch, and mind does just that. Such a pity, really. So I’m taking this as an opportunity to try something a little different.

I’m a big fan of Vichy. I’ve always got on well with their products, and this product in particular looks really interesting. I’ve never used a micellar water because I’ve always been happy with the method I’ve been using. Having the 2 combined, however… I think I’ll be chucking this in my basket if I ever find it. Ugh. It finally arrived in store and I went to pick it up…and then saw the size of the bottle. Much smaller than I imagined for the price. I didn’t end up getting it.

Lush Ultrabland – R115/R175
Another product on the face cleaning front… What can I say? I’m looking for something that will remove makeup effectively and travel well, since I sometimes spend the weekends at the mister’s place. Many bloggers have sung their praises when it comes to this cleansing balm, and I intend on trying it sometime. I went to pick this up and my local Lush didn’t have it. I may try pick this up elsewhere.
Finally tracked this down after much hunting!

Nuxe Aroma-Perfection Unclogging Thermo-active Mask – R195
This heats up when it comes in contact with your skin, and has a creamy oily consistency, which sounds so luxurious. It also has little exfoliating bits in it to give you that deep clean. Yup. I’ll be on the hunt for this. I’m currently using a moisturising mask by Nuxe and it’s so amazing, so I reckon this one will be just as good.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara – R295
This has been on that “import want list” on my phone for freaking ever. I really got on well with They’re Real, and only use it for special occasions. Despite the infrequent use, it hasn’t dried up on me or started smelling funny, so I’m really impressed. With that in mind, when Benefit came out with Roller Lash, it sounded like my sort of thing. I try keep the import stuff off my list (mostly failing) but since you can now buy Benefit in SA again (angel song), it will soon be in my clutches as I’ve ordered one from Red Square (http://www.redsquare.co.za/r-roller-lash-em-masc-61575453.html). Oh yez.
BENEFIT IS BACK! And this is glorious! Finishing an older mascara first though.

Urban Decay Naked2 Basics – R300-ish
Another “import want list” item. It’s been on my list the day I saw the first swatches. Oh my. Like Roller Lash, it will soon be a reality. Some friends of mine have been holidaying it up in the UK and I happened to stumble upon this on Beauty Bay. It was on sale for like 15 pounds. WHAT. Ofcourse I clicked buy. They’ll be carting this baby back for me, and all will be right in this world 😛
I HAZ IT I HAZ IT! This baby is now finally MINE!

Bobbi Brown Long-wear Cream Shadow Stick in Dusty Mauve – R400
ByTerry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock… Yup, all the “import want list” lusting. Since that is never going to happen (sob), the next best thing is this, I think. I’ll be swatching this soon, and if it’s beautiful and magical… *wiggles fingers* I swatched this and nope. It’s very…not what I’m into.

Trenery Leather Sling Bag – R1400
I still want this damn thing. Why so ‘spensive???? No longer at Cavendish Square. Wut. Still online. BUT THE PRICE. WHY.

Finished in June – basically, the scrub edition

Just a warning… 90% of these empties are scrubs. Yeah, I don’t know. Sometimes this shit just happens??

Freeman Guava Body Salt Scrub
Ehhh… This won’t be a repurchase. I loved the smell of it but it was weird. The scrubby particles (very scrubby – which I like) were suspended in gel (or whatever it was) and due to the consistency of the gel (very jelly-ish), it made this very hard to spread evenly and efficiently on wet skin. Maybe if my skin was dry it would work, but it took a lot of work to try break the gel down and actually get the scrubby bits to reach the skin. When it did, yay! But most of the time, it just didn’t happen. It would kinda bead up and just slide down my legs or arms or something. There was also far too few salt bits to gel. Ratio way off! Sorry, Freeman’s!

The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Seed Body Scrub
Liked the scent! Liked how moisturising it felt. Wished there were more seeds in there to make it super scrubby. I like to feel it scrub, not just a hint of scrub, which is why I try avoid gel scrubs. This wasn’t a gel, btw. But anyway, I liked this enough. This was like a 5 or 6 out of 10… Probably a 6.

Woolworths Love Your Skin Extreme Moisture 2 in 1 Moisturising Butter Scrub
HEAVEN IN A TUBE. I lie. Heaven is the Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub. This was pretty freaking amazing though. Not zomg scrubby, but it smelt like all the good things in life, felt super moisturising and I’d buy this again in a heartbeat. It even made me want to try the shower gel, but then I saw the gel was like a weird metallic colour… And that generally makes me think of bubble bath. Something I don’t like, clearly.

NYX Doll Eye Mascara Waterproof
I really liked this! My friend Holly gave this to me. I see we can actually get this now. It made my lashes look awesome and when it says waterproof, oh my lord, it means it. MEANS IT. I have cried wearing this stuff. And not just like *tear rolling down cheek*… I’m talking about huge ugly cry, snotting everywhere and not being able to breathe kinda cry. And it didn’t streak or make me look like a panda. I might actually repurchase this, or at least another NYX mascara some time.

The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Shower Gel
Another one of those off products. Liked the scent, obviously, but it just SUCKED at foaming or making me feel clean. I generally like Body Shop stuff, but this just didn’t work for me.

And that is it! Hopefully July will be a lot less scrub-heavy? Wait…who am I kidding?
