It’s that slow shift from right to left

Read the rest: The beginning, Crispin meets Gina, Spilt milk, Pretty Penny, 4am, Stumble, Left in the lurch, Slip, Getting caught & The road ahead.

Nancy stepped carefully over the mole hills in the small garden before reaching the porch. It was one of those wide narrow ones, with two easy chairs to one side and lanterns hanging from the eaves.

She imagined Crispin reclining in the rocking chair, coffee in hand and gazing across the quarry in early morning light. That stillness reminded her of him; how he could look at you, piercing every wall you’d built up.

The front door slammed open. Joe’s eyes were searching, frantic, until they found Crispin. Crispin ran the last few steps up to the porch and embraced Joe quickly before quickly disappearing into the house.

Nancy, awkward, followed the two men in before closing the door behind her.

Crispin’s voice was going a mile a minute and Nancy could hardly follow the conversation. She wasn’t part of it. As far as they were both concerned, she wasn’t even there, hovering at the threshold of the lounge.

She caught strains – “how much do they know?” and “do they know what you look like?” and the whole time, Nancy felt guilty. The moment her lips had touched Crispin’s, her fingers finding the smooth skin of his hip under his t-shirt, she had put him at risk, even if she didn’t know it at the time.

Larry, although almost never present, was fierce when given a task. He was a pitbull when temptation crossed his path. And that heavy envelope was just the thing that would catch his attention.

Both men suddenly turned to Nancy. She looked back, trying to remain strong, nonchalant, an innocent bystander. Her lips began moving, trying to form words that may help or soothe, but she just became a miming idiot under their attention.

Crispin saw her struggling, and his eyes softened. She had her lip between her teeth and he couldn’t help remembering the moments they spent together lying in cheap hotel room beds, strips of light coming through the blinds both illuminating and hiding their bodies from each others’ slow scrutiny.

He moved. His steps were jerky at first but finally, he reached her. “It’s okay,” he tried to say, but Joe had cut him short.
“You put yourself at risk because of her?” Outrage. It bit and snapped at Crispin.

“I thought it was worth it…” And Nancy finally let out that sob out she’d been holding in the whole car journey.

All the things. All the time.

Hello August. I want everything. Yep. Everything. My lust is great and I cannot fulfill it. This is a sad reality. But let’s look at the list anyway…

Dolce & Gabbana – Pour Femme EDT (R1,245)
WHY. WHY. This was on my birthday list and I’ve been wanting it ever since but holy crapola is it expensive. I sprayed some on me when I was at the mall and I fell in love all over again. It smells so great. Not really a summer scent but I don’t care, I want it. Maybe when I pass my drivers I’ll splurge? Probably not, but hey.

Kiehl’s Micro-Blur Skin Perfector
Another one I’ve been wanting forever but this has only just been released in South Africa. Can we have a YAY? I’ve heard this isn’t greasy or sticky, which is a plus. I just hope it’ll work for my oily skin. I’m also super crazy keen for the BB cream. I mean… it has 50 SPF!!! Perfect for what I want it for. Got this! Splurged awhile ago and no regrets!

Human + Kind BB Cream
What colours are available? I’ve only found light to medium at the Wellness Warehouse but there were no testers and I’m a pale lass so I was worried about buying blindly. Actually, I’ve just googled it and that looks like the lightest. Hmm. And swatches seem okay. Alright. I’m convinced. Next? Also got my hands on this (in 2016) and love it!

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess perfume
When is this coming out? Sigh. This happened as well (end of 2015)

Dior Tie Dye LE collection blush in Pink Sunrise
As far as I know there is still one in stock at my mall. I’ve been wanting this since May. I know it’s waiting for me. The poor girl at the counter always reminds me it’s in stock because she knowsssss I want this, but the R800-ish price tag makes me cry inside 😥

And finally… Some stuff from Beautylink. Sob. Experience the heartbreak when you see the cost of these things…

The Brush Egg – R99
(http://www.beautylink.co.za/product/the-original-brushegg/)

Pretty good price I’d say! I think this would make brush cleaning way easier. Unlike most, I don’t mind cleaning my brushes. The part that gets me, though, is the time it takes to dry!! Not that this product is going to help with that…

Makeup Geek 9 Eyeshadow Starter Kit – R975
(http://www.beautylink.co.za/product/makeup-geek-9-eyeshadow-starter-kit/)

Oh dear god. I love every single colour in this collection. This is never going to happen, I know it. It’s just crazy crazy crazy ‘spensive. But so worth it. But no. But yes. Crap. Someone sponsor me????

Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara – R430
http://www.beautylink.co.za/product/too-faced-better-than-sex-mascara/

There’s no way a mascara can be better than sex, but I’m willing to see how hard they tried 😛

Finished in July

It’s almost Christmas! Now with that out of the way, onto my empties!

Woolworths Love Your Skin Extreme Moisture Dry Oil Spray
This stuff is like R60… Which is fine BUT I finished this so quickly!! And the bottle is pretty damn small. So that’s really disappointing. On the positive side, it smells amazing, feels fantastic and I even considered repurchasing it this month but after some thought, I decided to leave it 😥 I am starting to regret it because it’s just so much easier than whipping out the body butter, so perhaps I’ll make a sneaky purchase sometime soon.

Olay Even & Smooth Cleansing Face Wash for all skin types
I remember this. I don’t remember what it felt like to use… that’s a problem. Obviously it didn’t leave much of an impression on me and considering I stocked up on my favourite, The Body Shop Tea Tree Cool & Creamy Wash, it’s probably not a keeper. What’s freaking me out though is that I can’t seem to find it listed on The Body Shop website. Um. Please tell me this isn’t going to be discontinued???!!!

Carmex Classic Moisturising Lip Balm (pot)
Done! I like the stick better – and I made sure to buy like 5 the last time I saw them. You don’t even want to see my lips without this stuff. Nightmares, I tell you.

Dermalogica Clear Start Oil Clearing Matte Moisturiser
I really liked this stuff and it lasted *FOREVER* Not surprising since the tube contains 60ml. I didn’t repurchase this one because in May I bought some Nuxe skincare (which included a new moisturiser) on Spree using a gift voucher I got from my awesome work colleagues. I’m a bit sad to see that Spree doesn’t really stock Nuxe anymore. Noes! I know I can get it from Truworths though, so no biggie. Back to the point… Yes, I’d repurchase, BUT I’d also like to try another Dermalogica moisturiser. The only thing that’ll hold me back is the *gulp* price.

The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Scrub
This was a weird one for me. I like the idea of argan oil but this stuff smelt…weird. Like almost almond-y but with some other stuff mixed in (probably the argan stuff). Anyway, I persevered with it because it felt scrubby. Scrubby, but not the scrubby I like best. And it felt like a gel… The whole experience was just strange. I’m not getting this again, though.

Dove Purely Pampering Body Wash – Shea Butter with Warm Almond
*Happy sigh* I love this stuff. I’ll get this again soon.
