The birthday wishlist that was

Welcome to my birthday wishlist ‘not gonna buy’ list ‘shit’s so ‘spensive, yo’ list

I normally keep a running list throughout the year and give my mom those ideas, but this is the rejects list. Because unfortunately I have rich ass taste. Whoops? And you know, it’s freaking expensive. And I’m not rolling in cash. And nobody I know is bathing in the green either. So this is my imaginary list. Or, a list of things I might get myself as a splurge at a later stage.

Winter knit jersey (like almost R900. For some wool? WHAT.)

Trenery has a green one that is sooo nice. This black one is also great. Size XL. So expensive. Cry. I picked up the green one on sale. Woohoo!!

Scarf (actually somewhat affordable, but do people buy scarves willingly?)

This arrow print scarf in black is really cute. I went and stroked it yesterday and it feels nice 😀

Dolce & Gabbana – Pour Femme (Price: I can’t even type it out)
http://www.redsquare.co.za/dolce-gabbana-pour-femme-eau-de-parfum-spray.html
So yummy, but so pricey. Gah.

Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner – Chocolate Truffle (+/- R275)
I tried this out at Edgars the other day and oh my. But I really couldn’t bring myself to buying it. Also, the Bobbi Brown Pink Gold Sheer Lip Colour (no idea price) is pretty. And the Pretty Powerful mascara (R310 I think. Part of proceeds go to a charity, wooohoo!) But yeah. I feel bad buying high end. Well. No. Yes. No. Sometimes.

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine #52 Fetiche or #59 Elise or #90 Mutine (Like R300?)
One word: splurge. Which makes me think of dirty things. Hmm.

MAC 217 brush (R265) and MAC 219 brush (R219)
Cos really. If I’m gonna spend R200+ on myself, I’m kinda going to edge towards buying multiple items rather than drop a chunk of money on just one thing. But they’re really soft and I’ve been lusting.

Anglepoise lamp – black (no idea $$)
Kinda like this one: http://www.eurolux.co.za/fittingsproductdetail.php?fit_id=1984&opt_id=3168
Cos it’s bad ass.

Pumpkin Latte candle (R270), Pumpkin Spice candle (R270) and Tangerine and Vanilla candle (R245)
All from http://creativecandles.co.za/20-medium-jar
They just smell so good, but also, I can’t really justify a R200+ on just one candle.

Macaron gift set (R525)
http://www.yuppiechef.com/sweetly-does-it.htm?id=8170&name=Sweetly-Does-It-Macaron-Gift-Set-Set-of-7
My heart did little giddy-ups when I saw this… and then sank (drowned) when I saw the price. Oh well. I mostly just want the book and the heat resistant silicone tray thing.

Feb/March empties

This has been a serious Body Shop month. I found a whole stash of unfinished/barely touched products that I’ve received over the years for birthdays and Christmases and I’ve made it my mission to finish it all up. So here goes.

The Body Shop Vanilla Bliss Body Wash
This stuff is magical. I will always buy this during Christmas time. It smells like vanilla and happiness. My only wish is that The Body Shop would make this available all year round!

The Body Shop Gingerbread Body Polish
I didn’t like this at all. I liked the polish part of it – really felt like it was getting the job done – but the smell! Ugh. It smelt like Coca-Cola or something, which isn’t exactly what I was looking for. Won’t be repurchasing this one.

Loreal Telescopic Mascara (brown)
I got this mascara in a goodie bag a longgggg time ago. I know you’re not supposed to use mascara that’s more than 6 months old, but I figured that since I hadn’t even broken the seal, it would be fine. This took quite a while to finish, since I’m a one coat-ish kinda girl, and not really into layering (I like definition, I don’t need volume). I loved this. It’s a great deep brown that looks very similar (a smidge darker) than my natural eyelash colour and I would wear this to work for a more natural look. I’m totally repurchasing this stuff, but right now, I’m hooked on the Chanel Sublime de Chanel mascara (also in brown).

Head and Shoulders Damage Rescue Shampoo
This is my “it’s a seriously broke month and I need to wash my hair” shampoo. It’s not something I choose if I have a little more money to play with. It was okay. It was like every other Head and Shoulders shampoo, I reckon. I do prefer the menthol one simply because it feels tingly.

The Body Shop Moringa Cream Body Scrub
This did NOT last long. I opened it just at the end of February, and it was finished before March was even up. I did wait until payday to purchase a new exfoliator/scrub, though. And the repurchase wasn’t this one – it was the shea sugar scrub version. I love the smell of the Moringa line and I think I’d try the body wash (if it exists), but the cream scrubs just don’t do it for me. Not as economical.

The Body Shop Papaya Shower Gel
Well, I bought this on the “buy 3, and get 1 free” offer they had in January or February. This is not a scent I’d usually buy. I prefer the nutty/milky/vanilla smelling stuff, but this body wash was actually really nice and fresh, especially since I was using it when Cape Town was in the middle of its great scorcher.

Essence My Skin Caring Cleansing Wipes – Pomegranate and Bamboo
I wanted to like this. I really did. Alas. The first 10-15 wipes were awesome, but the closer I got to the end of the pack, the dryer they were. The last two were pretty much bone dry. Super sucky since they worked really well, didn’t irritate my skin and are super affordable.

Phew. That’s it. *kaplop*
