My list overflows, as usual but here is a little edit. I’m putting a few of these on the Christmas list, I think.

Fossil Preston Small Flap bag – R2600 (sob)
I want this in black. It is small and cute and I don’t own anything luxury, and this caught my eye. I mean, obviously I would die one hundred times for a Rebecca Minkoff, but I can’t see that happening. I got this in May 2016 for my birthday 🙂

Lush Hot Oil Hair Treatment – R125 (I think?)
Oh yes, this curly frizzy hair needs some lurve! I ultimately want like 10 of these. Right. I bought one of these in December and I got one as a gift from AwkwardPurse. Love it!

Benefit B.Right Radiant Skincare Set – R295
Well, this was on RedSquare… but now I don’t see it. This is definitely going on the Christmas wishlist. I need an eyecream… this contains one. And also, they’re mini and cute and made by Benefit. What could go wrong? T_T

LOC Complete Collection for Eyes (by Tati!) – $35-ish?
Well, these sticks look amazing and also, I love Tati’s tutorials and would love to support her. I’m thinking of making a BirchBox order next month and use the Aramex freight forwarding service. I already emailed BirchBox to find out if they accept this service (places like Sephora – WHYYYY???!!! – don’t accept freight forwarding addresses) and they said it’s all good 🙂 A friend and I made a BirchBox order in November/December and these goodies arrived just before Christmas. I should do a review… They’re awesome!

Ren Glycolactic Radiance Renewal Mask – R540
Currently on special for a big bottle… Would love this! I have some under the skin bumps which are driving me nuts and nothing is shifting them… I wonder if this would help? Maybe Santa will help me out 😛 But probably not. So, REN had a sale in December (can’t remember why) and I picked this up for like R400. Love!

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula Deep Conditioning Protein Pack – R30?
This stuff. It was created by gods amongst men, I tell you. I leave it in as a treatment – so like an hour minimum – and when I wash it out, my hair is magical. And besides, who doesn’t want magical hair? I finally found these before I finished work in December. Currently my hair smells like this coconutty goodness. Yum!

The things I want this month

Between trying to sort out retirement annuities and actually saving money, I hardly think this is going to happen any time, but in the spirit of cataloging my lusts, here we go again!

I’ve been looking for a new desk lamp because the one I’m currently using is manky and keeps blowing bulbs…and I really want something that isn’t plastic crap. I’ve been toying with getting a vintage-looking/inspired anglepoise lamp but the area I have to work with isn’t tall enough for one. Also, all the good/great looking anglepoise lamps I could find were pretty much the same price as this one… and honestly, look at the workmanship on that! This isn’t a light you’re going to throw away. It’s basically an heirloom.

Painting my bedroom – R1500
Oh…my bedroom. Ha. So, I’ve had the same room since I was a kid – when I was much younger, my mom used to surprise my brother and I by swapping our rooms. My brother has my original bedroom but the one I have right now has been mine for more than 15 years. It also hasn’t been painted since…the stone ages probably. It’s getting grubby, and I had the tendency to write all over my cupboards when I was in highschool and even though it looks cool and interesting, I’ve been wanting to make a change for a very long time. I’ve joked with my friends that I’m going to take those cupboard doors with me when I move out, but I’ve grown up and I think it’s time to sand and paint. And also give the rest of the room a fresh lick of paint. I’m thinking white and a blue-toned grey?

Since when are MAC lipsticks R210? Weren’t they like R190-something just the other day? Anyway, that’s besides the point. This colour is apparently similar to MAC Syrup (my favourite) but less purple and more like Mehr (which we don’t have).

It’s on special at the moment! This expensive tube of awesome is full of glycolic and lactic acids and omega 3. Woohoo! I’ve been on a real skincare kick and this just sounds right up my alley.

Dermalogica Overnight Retinol Repair is also on the list, along with Dermaceutic Activ Retinol 0.5% serum – they’re probably between R700-R800 *sob*

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess perfume
SOMEONE JUST FREAKING TELL ME WHERE I CAN GET THIS. I swear, the Estee Lauder consultants on social media freaking SUCK. I ask and they don’t reply or tell me it WAS available as a gift with purchase… What the hell, guys?! I can’t exactly work with that, can I now? Got this thanks to a girl who answered my pleas on the Estee Lauder Facebook page.

I keep promising myself that if I have money at the end of the month and it’s not sold out at my local Edgars, I’m going to seriously consider buying this baby. It’s stunning. I swatched it and really like it. Okay, so it’s not the end of the month yet (I got it on the 19th…) but while I was at Tygervalley getting the mister his present, I kinda. just. walked into Edgars and asked. And they had it. And I thought…okay. Let’s do this cos I mean, it’s limited edition. It might be sold out by the end of the month. WHOOPS. I AM SO SORRY, BANK ACCOUNT!!!!

It does good things for your skin. And Caroline Hirons loves it, so why not?

I’ve been loving my flat top kabuki (also Sigma) but it doesn’t get into tricky corners very well, which is where this one comes in. It’s definitely a splurge, though.

Hello August. I want everything. Yep. Everything. My lust is great and I cannot fulfill it. This is a sad reality. But let’s look at the list anyway…

Dolce & Gabbana – Pour Femme EDT (R1,245)
WHY. WHY. This was on my birthday list and I’ve been wanting it ever since but holy crapola is it expensive. I sprayed some on me when I was at the mall and I fell in love all over again. It smells so great. Not really a summer scent but I don’t care, I want it. Maybe when I pass my drivers I’ll splurge? Probably not, but hey.

Kiehl’s Micro-Blur Skin Perfector
Another one I’ve been wanting forever but this has only just been released in South Africa. Can we have a YAY? I’ve heard this isn’t greasy or sticky, which is a plus. I just hope it’ll work for my oily skin. I’m also super crazy keen for the BB cream. I mean… it has 50 SPF!!! Perfect for what I want it for. Got this! Splurged awhile ago and no regrets!

Human + Kind BB Cream
What colours are available? I’ve only found light to medium at the Wellness Warehouse but there were no testers and I’m a pale lass so I was worried about buying blindly. Actually, I’ve just googled it and that looks like the lightest. Hmm. And swatches seem okay. Alright. I’m convinced. Next? Also got my hands on this (in 2016) and love it!

As far as I know there is still one in stock at my mall. I’ve been wanting this since May. I know it’s waiting for me. The poor girl at the counter always reminds me it’s in stock because she knowsssss I want this, but the R800-ish price tag makes me cry inside 😥

Vichy Purete Thermale Beautifying Cleansing Micellar Oil – R290 (I think)
I’ve been really faithful to The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Oil. I love that stuff so damned much. But there seems to be a manufacturing flaw with some of the bottles. They can leak like a bitch, and mind does just that. Such a pity, really. So I’m taking this as an opportunity to try something a little different.

I’m a big fan of Vichy. I’ve always got on well with their products, and this product in particular looks really interesting. I’ve never used a micellar water because I’ve always been happy with the method I’ve been using. Having the 2 combined, however… I think I’ll be chucking this in my basket if I ever find it. Ugh. It finally arrived in store and I went to pick it up…and then saw the size of the bottle. Much smaller than I imagined for the price. I didn’t end up getting it.

Lush Ultrabland – R115/R175
Another product on the face cleaning front… What can I say? I’m looking for something that will remove makeup effectively and travel well, since I sometimes spend the weekends at the mister’s place. Many bloggers have sung their praises when it comes to this cleansing balm, and I intend on trying it sometime. I went to pick this up and my local Lush didn’t have it. I may try pick this up elsewhere. Finally tracked this down after much hunting!

Nuxe Aroma-Perfection Unclogging Thermo-active Mask – R195
This heats up when it comes in contact with your skin, and has a creamy oily consistency, which sounds so luxurious. It also has little exfoliating bits in it to give you that deep clean. Yup. I’ll be on the hunt for this. I’m currently using a moisturising mask by Nuxe and it’s so amazing, so I reckon this one will be just as good.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara – R295
This has been on that “import want list” on my phone for freaking ever. I really got on well with They’re Real, and only use it for special occasions. Despite the infrequent use, it hasn’t dried up on me or started smelling funny, so I’m really impressed. With that in mind, when Benefit came out with Roller Lash, it sounded like my sort of thing. I try keep the import stuff off my list (mostly failing) but since you can now buy Benefit in SA again (angel song), it will soon be in my clutches as I’ve ordered one from Red Square (http://www.redsquare.co.za/r-roller-lash-em-masc-61575453.html). Oh yez. BENEFIT IS BACK! And this is glorious! Finishing an older mascara first though.

Another “import want list” item. It’s been on my list the day I saw the first swatches. Oh my. Like Roller Lash, it will soon be a reality. Some friends of mine have been holidaying it up in the UK and I happened to stumble upon this on Beauty Bay. It was on sale for like 15 pounds. WHAT. Ofcourse I clicked buy. They’ll be carting this baby back for me, and all will be right in this world 😛 I HAZ IT I HAZ IT! This baby is now finally MINE!

I checked this out… the leather feels wonderful and it has a nice magnetic closure. The price freaks me out, but it is genuine leather. I sit here thinking… if I’m even entertaining the thought of splurging that much, shouldn’t I maybe consider something more high end? Like a bigger/better fashion brand? But how much more would something like that cost, and is the same style available?

The swatches just look so nice! I want some healthy glow, people! I’d use this as a blush, though. I’m not really the super bronzer type, and also the colour is pretty pink. A Bobbi Brown consultant at Cavendish Square Edgars told me this was discontinued. She was super unhelpful and refused to phone any other Red Squares or Edgars to find out if they had any still in stock. Seriously, what is up with that? I ended up tracking one down (after way too many unanswered telephones *cough* Waterfront and Canal Walk *cough* at Red Square in Constantia Shopping Centre. Thanks for being awesome, guys. I am now a glowing magical beast!

• A new foundation of some sorts. I went to Bobbi Brown to get colour matched to the Long-wear foundation. The girl wanted me to get 02 Sand but it looked so dark on me. Of course she didn’t think so. What is up with that? This isn’t the first time a consultant has tried to push a bad shade on me. She also insisted on piling on all these creams and stuff before putting on the foundation, which just made my skin feel seriously sticky. I told her I’m oily/combo, but noooo. Luckily I went back again on the weekend and spoke to another consultant. My experience was way better and I am now the proud owner of 01 Warm Ivory thanks to the mothership.
• GlamPalm Hair straightener. I need something industrial for this hair of mine.
• theBalm Nude Dude palette. Sadly this little guy is out of stock on the RetailBox website. Sniff.
• A bra from Ewa Michalak. The number of times I’ve tried to order from this Polish company… I’m going to have to do some major emailing to get this one right Alas. But I am determined!
• YSL Black Opium perfume. This stuff smells like all the best dreams in the world.
• Urban Decay Naked2 Basics. If only. Please be mine.
• MAC Brave and MAC Mehr. Yup. Still on my wishlist.
• Dermalogica skin mapping session. I walk passed a Dermalogica store every time I go to gym, and I really want to go and see what they say about my skin. I can’t afford most of the stuff in the store, but I’m keen on the PreCleanse and Daily Microfoliant, as well as some of their treatments that target redness (a big problem of mine). If only I could afford this!
• Stila Nouveau Natural Eye Shadow Palette. I spotted this on the Stila website and fell in love. Will it come to SA? Oh my.

All the wants

I know we’re halfway through February, but I only just realised I haven’t put together a lust list. I’ve been concentrating on being good this month and mostly succeeded, however, the #feelingspendy bug kicked in last Friday when I had to go pick up a birthday present for my brother and replace some clothing basics. Sigh.

• Chanel ‘Jardin de Chanel’ Blush Camelia Rose (limited edition and oh so beautiful) So yeah, I bought this. I lost 5kgs and kinda wanted to treat myself and it’s been on my list… I went to the Chanel counter at my Edgars and tested it out. Oh my. The glow. I managed to grab the very last one. No buyers regret but I think my wallet hates me.
• Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse Dry Oil (still on my list, I know. I can’t wait until I can afford this baby. I’m planning on getting the big spray bottle version) Bought a big bottle for myself later this year.
  
• Chanel Inimitable mascara (I loved the Volume de Chanel mascara but promised myself I couldn’t JUST BUY another Chanel mascara because they’re so goddamned expensive. But then I received this Inimitable mascara sample, and I’m in love again…)
• BalmBalm Frankincense Deep Cleansing Balm and BalmBalm Little Miracle Rosehip Serum (I’ve been meaning to buy both these products for ages now, but the price scares me a little.) Got this for my birthday from Janet ^_^
  
• I’m still on the hunt for a foundation. I keep flitting between Dior Forever, Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet and Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Even Finish Foundation. I think I need to get some samples. But Dior never has samples. Ugh.
• Chanel Correcteur Perfection Long Lasting Concealer (looks like you can use this under your eyes and on blemishes. Just what I need because my Wet n Wild one is almost finished and it really didn’t impress me…)
• I saw this amazing powder on display at the Dior counter in Edgars, Cavendish. It is so finely milled and magical. I must have the shade 010. It says it’s good for oil control…which is exactly what I need. It could have been the Diorskin Forever Extreme Wear and Oil Control Matte powder. HMMM. Must investigate.
